Kniphofia (Red Hot Poker) flowers

Kniphofia, commonly known as Red Hot Poker, is a bold perennial famous for its tall flower spikes that resemble glowing torches. Native to South Africa, these striking shades of red, orange, yellow, and cream create a dramatic display from late spring through summer.

It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, where it grows into sturdy clumps with long, arching, grass-like leaves. It is an excellent choice for borders and mixed perennial beds, adding height and vibrant color to the landscape. The nectar-filled flowers are highly attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, making it a valuable plant for pollinator-friendly gardens.
