Zebra Orchid flowers
Zebra Orchid (Caladenia cairnsiana) blooms in early spring, between September and October. With bold red stripes on its flower lip (labellum). This flower showcases petals with extravagant greenish yellow tips. The plant grows only one hairy leaf, and the stalk holds one to two flowers. The red-striped labellum is decorated with a bumpy purple centre. It’s incredibly slow and difficult to propagate.The purple red bumps in the centre of the labellum is known as calli. Its beautiful petals, with lateral sepals fall down close to the ovary elegantly, which makes this flower attractive and unique.
