Okra Plant
Okra (Ladies’ Fingers) is a part of the botanical family Malvaceae and the genus Abelmoschus. These annual plants are native to Tropical Africa and Asia. The plant is 3-5 ft tall and grows best in bright full sunlight and moist, well-drained soil. The flowers of Okra are funnel-shaped with 4-5 petals. The fruit is a capsule divided into five sides and has numerous seeds.
Okra is rich in nutrients such as magnesium, fibre, vitamin C, folate, and antioxidants. It helps in controlling blood sugar levels and improving bone health. Okra also reduces serious health concerns, for example, cancer.
