Japanese Blood Grass
Japanese Blood Grass is a part of the botanical family Poaceae and the genus Imperata. These perennial plants are native to Southeast Asia, Southern Europe, Africa, Micronesia, and Australia. The plant grows best in full sunlight to partial shade. The flowers are silver/white and arranged in a spike. The fruit is a caryopsis.
Imperata is used in medicine to treat diseases in Chinese medicine. It is also good for the skin as it provides moisture and a good complexion. Japanese Blood Grass has other uses, like making paper and weaving mats.
