Bacopa, also known as Brahmi, belongs to the botanical family Plantaginaceae. These perennial plants are native to America, India, and Southeast Asia. The plant grows best in bright or partial light and moist soil. The flowers are white-pink, bell-shaped in the axil of the leaves. 

The leaves of these plants are edible and used in salad or cooked as a vegetable. Bacopa attracts a large number of pollinators such as butterflies, moths, and songbirds. The plant also has wildlife value as it acts as a host plant to the white peacock butterfly.
