Bearberry Flowers

The bearberry flower is a part of the Ericaceae family and botanically known as Arctostaphylos uva-ursi. These low-growing evergreen shrubs are native to North America, Europe and Asia and feature small pink, bell-shaped flowers and red, edible berries which are used for culinary purposes like making jams and jellies.
Grown mainly as ground cover, these spring flowers thrive in full sun to partial shade. Due to its strong tolerance, this plant is associated with the meaning of resilience and perseverance. While the flower is not considered toxic, it should be consumed in recommended doses to prevent digestive issues.
