Bee Balm Flowers
Commonly known as monarda, the bee balm flower is a genus of flowering plants which is native to North America. Featuring spiky two-lipped flowers in the colours red, pink and purple, these summer flowers are pollinating magnets and attract a variety of insects and hummingbirds to the garden, making them ecologically beneficial.
These tubular-shaped flowers can be planted as a mixed border plant, perfectly paired up with black-eyed susans and phlox. Additionally, the bee balm flowers are considered non-toxic for pests and humans. They also have a great resistance to deer and rabbits, making them safe for outdoor planting.
