Bougainvillea Flowers

The bougainvillaea is a genus of flowering plants from the Nyctaginaceae family which are commonly found trailing down fences and doors. Native to South America, these evergreen climbing shrubs are one of the most popular ornamental flowers, which features white and pink papery bracts and heart-shaped green leaves that grow up to 4 feet high.

Blooming from spring to fall, these flowers are mildly toxic and can cause a little skin allergy. Apart from that, these ornamental flowers are drought-tolerant once established and complement almost all the garden styles and are ideal for garden gate décor.
