Euphorbia Flowers

Euphorbia is a very large genus with over 2,000 species, part of the Euphorbiaceae family, whose members include surprising shapes and sizes. They can be annuals, perennials, evergreen, or deciduous, even shrubs or trees.

They are decoratively topped with thick, bottlebrush-like greenish-yellow flowers in early spring, which consist mainly of glowing lime-yellow bracts with purple nectar glands.

The plant is steeped in Christian symbolism, with legend suggesting its stems were used to create the crown of thorns worn by Jesus at his crucifixion.

The plant’s resilience and ability to bloom abundantly despite harsh conditions symbolize endurance and faith.
