Fig Marigold Flowers

The fig marigold, native to South Africa, is a semi-hardy perennial from the Aizoaceae family, one of 30 species in the Carpobrotus genus. Fig Marigold is a branched, erect, creeping, moderately vigorous succulent species that grows to about 5 feet wide and about 1 foot tall.

The elongated leaves are fleshy, about 5 inches long, and about 0.5 inches thick, with a triangular cross-section, waxy, sometimes tinged red around the edges, and generally orange or reddish with age.

The large, conspicuous pink and yellow flowers stand individually and at the end of short side branches.
