Gentian flowers

Gentian flowers display some of the most striking true-blue hues found in nature. They are beloved by gardeners for their vibrant trumpet-shaped blossoms and often compact, alpine habit. Gentians are not commonly seen in every garden. These plants are a bit more specialized, thriving in cool conditions and well-drained soils.

Gentian blooms typically sit above a mound of green foliage, creating a stunning contrast of intense blue petals against lush greenery. While gentians are most famous for their rich blue color, some species also bloom in shades of purple, white, pink, and bright yellow, making them a unique addition.
