Goat’Rue flowers
Goat’s Rue is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Fabaceae family. It is commonly known as Galega and is native to the temperate grassland areas of the Middle East but is now grown in Europe and Asia.
This perennial wildflower is 1-2’ tall, sending up one or more stems from the base that are unbranched or sparingly branched. The stems are light green, terete, and hairy. The dried flowers and aerial parts of the plant are used for medicinal purposes. Flowers are collected from July to September, which are dried well, and used to make tinctures, infusions, or powders.
