Japanese Folding screen

A Japanese folding screen, or byopbu, is a portable, zigzag wall made of painted paper and wood that has been used for over a thousand years to block wind, divide rooms, and display art. These are perfect for blocking off a home office or hiding a bed in a small studio flat. These are usually large and colorful; they work well as giant paintings to decorate an empty wall. Keep them away from damp areas and hot radiators, which can dry out and crack the fragile paper. Direct sun will fade the delicate paint and ruin the design.
