Mezereon flowers

Mezereon is a striking deciduous shrub admired for its clusters of fragrant pink, purple, or white flowers that bloom on bare branches in late winter to early spring. Its vibrant blossoms are followed by glossy red berries, creating year-round ornamental appeal. Thriving in USDA Hardiness Zones 4-7, Mezereon prefers well-drained, fertile soil and partial shade to full sun. The early flowers attract bees and other pollinators when few plants are in bloom. Although highly decorative, all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested. Its elegant appearance and early flowering habit make Mezereon a distinctive choice for woodland and cottage gardens.
