Sweet Pea flowers

Native to the Mediterranean region, including Sicily and southern Italy, sweet pea usually grows in clusters on sturdy stems. Unlike the edible pea plants, sweet pea is highly poisonous, and no part of the flower should be eaten. You can grow them in cottage landscapes, home gardens, or as cut flowers. It is best to sow the sweet pea seeds in autumn or late winter. Pinch out the tips and allow them some time to climb up.
