Thai Basil Plant

Thai Basil (Saint Joseph’s Wort) is a part of the botanical family Lamiaceae and the genus Ocimum. These perennial plants are native to tropical regions of Africa and Asia. Thai Basil is up to 3 ft tall and grows best in bright sunlight and well-drained soil. The flowers are small, white-lavender in color, and arranged in a raceme inflorescence. 

The flowers of Thai Basil, because of their nectar, attract bees and butterflies and are edible as well. Ocimum is a herb widely used in medicine, culinary, and decoration. The plant contain essential oils and also add flaour to vietanemese dishes.
