Vinca flowers

Vinca is a flowering plant that belongs to the Apocynaceae family. The indian name of the species is periwinkle or sadabahar. This is a hardy and evergreen ground cover plant that bears glossy green leaves along with blue-violet blossoms. I have mostly seen them growing along the garden borders. These are often mistaken for impatiens.

Proper sunlight and watering are basic needs for Vinca to grow profusely. The plant is mildly toxic and can cause gastrointestinal issues if ingested.
