Xerophyllum (Bear Grass) flowers

Xerophyllum, which belongs to the family of Melanthiaceae, native to Southwestern America, is an annual flowering plant. It grows white, dense, and rough flowers that can grow up to 0.6 to 2 m tall, which need lean soil and good drainage to grow. Xerophyllum takes several years to grow flowers, but once it grows then takes low maintenance. This plant is also known as Elk Grass and Fire Lily. It has over 3000 species, some include medicinal purposes, food species, and ornamental species, and some of them belong to the lily family.
