Yucca Plant

Yucca filamentosa (Adam’s Needle) plants are part of the botanical family Asparagaceae. These flowering plants are native to the Southeastern United States (Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina). The plant is 3-8 ft tall and grows in bright sunlight and a neutral pH. The flowers of Yucca filamentosa are white, bell-shaped, and have thick petals. 

These plants are traditionally used in medicine to treat a wide range of diseases; for example, the root is used to treat skin sores and rheumatoid arthritis, and the flowers are used to treat diabetes. Yucca filamentosa is also used to make ropes, baskets, and cloth.
